The Holey Boys, George and Jake, begin the title defense after their domination in the 2023 Finals.

Can the Holey Boys defend their title in the new expanded 40 team tournament? Can 4x Champions Harry and Adam bounce back after their Round of 16 exit a year ago? Will 2019 Champions Chris and Spencer find their groove again? Or will a newcomer etch their name in Holey Board history?

Harry Whitson & Adam Prohaska
The four time champs are out for revenge following their disappointing early exit in 2023. Adam and Harry will always be in contention given their maintained success over the years, but we all now know that they can be beaten. Adam has vowed to never be knocked out so early again - we’ve only heard about it all the time for the last year. Harry is still the best player in the tournament as long as he plays on boards that he likes.
George Whitson & Jake Kirchner
The new reigning champs are coming back to put up a title defense. An achievement that hasn’t been possible in the last few years. We are all curious if the hunger is still there. George is the only player out here that can give Harry a true run for his money, but after using last year's winnings to move into a new apartment is his head in the right place? Jake is still consistently WETTTTTT with his shot and the pride of being a soon to be Dad will help his game.
Spencer Malone-White & Chris Kirchner
The previous champs are looking to bounce back after bowing out against a familial foe last year. Spencer decided to move 3,000 miles away for a tea party and took up training at some no name school in Cambridge - and convinced them to pay him to work there. Chris is keeping his surroundings the same and is ready to reclaim the best in family title that has slipped away from him. Chris and Spencer have chemistry going back to the shared birthday parties of younger years. Wishing them both Happy Birthday. Spencer’s was 7/16 and Chris’s is 7/29.
Walter Malone-White & Evan Malone-White
Last year they probably had too much fun and got knocked out early. Some changes in preparation were necessary as Evan and Walter look to make their deepest run ever. Spending the early part of the summer traveling the Southeast, Walter has returned with a new sense of purpose for Holey Board. Evan has spent the year finding natural beauty from as far as Canada and as close are Irvine. Their success relies on them finding an early groove.
Jennifer Prohaska & Lara Hodges
Back for another year of causing trouble and tossing washers. Jennifer and Lara bring the joy that this game needs. Jennifer has been hard at work honing her game and is looking as good as she ever has - dominating the backyard practice sessions. Lara has been living her best life gallivanting across Portugal - will the European game translate once she returns home? As always these two will play you tough and talk their talk to back it up.
John Borgerding & Alex Matei
Returning to action after a successful debut tournament last year, John and Alex are primed to repeat a knockout round berth. Alex, unfortunately, is known to bottle away golden opportunities when he’s been afforded his chances - maybe one year he won’t Arsenal it up. John has proven every year he is a cagey player that is able to knock down shots at all levels. Be careful matching up against these two; they are good enough to go up against the best.
John Albi & Jake Jimenez
The classic duo is back together for another year. John and Jake are long time friends and big time game players that are up for any challenge in their path. Our scouts ran into John while he was touring the European circuit earlier this year. He was seen playing against talent from England to Italy and everything in between. Jake stepped up his love of Games and has already accepted a role for a US team. Will he be able to translate his Flag Football magic to the boards?
Dylan Salvino & Robbie Burdekin
Have they gotten hotter? Yes! Are they Dads yet? We hope not. So they have progressed in their goals since last year. Dylan took up the challenge of training under Harry in their shared backyard - we’ve seen the growth in his game. Robbie, meanwhile, has taken up residence in Arizona. Returning after a nice quarterfinal run and only losing to the eventual champs by one point last year. The DILFs are ready to take another step forward.
Patrick Borgerding & Garrett Klatte
The Whitson Yard semi-finalists are running it back and are looking to take one final step into holey board greatness. We haven’t seen them out in the practice field too much this year, but we know that these two are grinding behind the scenes. (Shoutout to Patrick for all his work for the tournament). Will the big brain strategies and lack of competitive practice hinder these two out before the finals again or will avoiding burnout be the secret to their success?
Gus Jimenez & Nick Romero
Some South Bay local legends team up for another year and are ready to challenge everyone in their path. Gus and Nick have been consistent players in the Holey Board tournament and have consistently been a very tough out for all those that have to play these guys. Our scouts have seen them all over town at various local watering holes, but we have yet to spot them on the boards. Since that seems to be their recipe for success let’s see if it pays off this year.
Mark Kirchner & Lori Danyrd
PARTNER! The long-time team is ready to try their luck again to see if their game is finally going to translate to the big show. Having much more time on his hands to train this year, Mark has really tried to find all the advantages of his vaunted “House Rules” - be careful or he might get you. Lori hasn’t played so much due to mourning over the loss of her dear Pac 12 conference - but maybe being MidWest now will help her lawn game. You better answer the call against these two.
Jan Whitson & Lori-Ann Harbridge
Our Queen, Jan, is bringing back her teammate Lori-Ann from last year. They are ready to let go of the struggles and make it back to the knockout stage. Both have been seen playing in the local circuits in the run up to the tournament and both have been lights out. Ten years in and no time like the present to get the Jan luck for a deep run. Lori-Ann has been practicing hard to show that she is the top Harbridge player - a crown that is waiting for her to take. Thank you for hosting for the tenth time Jan!
Darcy & Jason
Darcy and Jason return to the tournament, now accompanied by their lively one-year-old daughter, adding an adorable twist to their competitive spirit. Familiar faces from their last outing, where they were on the brink of tying the knot. They bring a blend of seasoned skills and the joy of parenthood to the boards. Darcy's precision throws and Jason's strategic finesse make them a formidable team, their bond strengthened by both love and sport.
Marley Capper & Adam Beck
Coming in from the sunshine state to show the world that the best players come from the least coast. Marley and Adam have left their Chicago post to take up some practice sessions under an unnamed coach down in Florida. They’ve done an incredible job at keeping their game under wraps, but we do know that these two have been able to squeeze in games to keep their skills sharp where they can.
Josh Chan & Emma Hodges
The love birds have moved in together and their chemistry has never been more evident. Emma is a certified baller on the boards once she gets into tournament play. She might not be a regular but in every tournament she shows up ready to play. We have not been able to find Josh since last year's memorial, but we remember his competitive nature making him a force to reckoned with. Be wary stepping up against these two tournament players.
Justin & Sara
Justin and Sara hit the boards with a fierce competitive edge, fueled by their shared passion for Holey Board and their loyal companion, Hudson, their spirited canine cheerleader. Known for their strategic gameplay and unwavering focus, this duo brings intensity and determination to every match. Sara's accuracy is a force to be reckoned with, complemented by Justin's tactical throws and relentless drive.
Erik Dynard & Drew Dockser
The tournament's darlings and the best dressed duo make another entrance into the tournament. Erik and Drew have been taking their classic Big Lebowiski outfits on a tour all across America over the last year and have been turning up at every wedding ready to slam some white Russians. While we haven’t been able to see these two play in person since last year, we know Drew is always up to play tough and Erik will be a plater that no one wants to see.
Liana Marin & Micah Ezzes
The longtime costume champs are back together. After another run into the knockouts have proven they are one of the better teams in the field. Micah has been the only player in the tournament to bribe the scouts with his delicious baked goods - of course he’s the best player on the field! Seriously, Micah can play with the best. We haven’t seen too much of Liana since her move to San Diego, but we know she’s a competitive force that has made big shot after big shot. No Sweeps from these Sluts.
Bob Gariepy & Tom Keneipp
Bob and Tom. Honestly, what more is there to say about these two guys. Two of the more competitive people to play in this tournament. Don’t get on their bad side or you’ll be in trouble. We’ve been told to have a Salty Dog ready to go in case tensions boil over. Tom is your classic yard game player and while we haven’t seen him play holey board, his short golf game will help him find the hole. Bob, meanwhile, has been getting in much needed practice and is ready to be the big time player he knows he is.
Josh Lewis & Andrew Borst
Josh and Andrew are making their long awaited team return. Josh is no stranger to the boards having competed in several tournaments and in being competitive as anyone in the field and he’ll be a feisty challenger. It’s Borsts second time out to the tournament and the pressures of tournament play could shake him again. But as a soon to be father, this should be a cake walk. Borst and Josh need to rally some magic together to make a run.
Mike Harbridge & Vinny Pizzuti
Who let these two team up? Like yeah, we all want to beat Harry or George, but I think I speak for everyone playing… We must not let this team win. If you know, you know. And if you didn’t know they’ll let you know. Both have struggled in competitive play as of late, but both are certified killers on the boards on their good days. Joining up after several failed games together, Mike and Vinny are ready to try their luck as a new team to the tournament.
James Faecher & Preston Faecher
A father son duo looking to capture a championship in the midst of a memorable summer. Preston is getting ready to marry his long time love and getting this tournament win should help him refill his coffers after putting down some cash to celebrate his love. Our scouts haven’t seen James or Preston on the boards in the run up, but we know they both love the chance to take down their opponents. From past tournaments we’ve seen them play well but will it show up this year?
Jonica Pendergest & Paul Trujilo-Langdon
The voice of the Finals and his baller of a partner return to us. Jonica is the early favorite to be the best of the Jonica, Kevin, Keanu and Marley Quartet. She thrives in the big time and loves to break all the hearts on her way to victory. Paul, the biggest Harry Disciple there is, knows he must perform this year to show that all his years of training have paid off. Jonica and Paul should be played with respect or you and your team will be in trouble.
Kevin Capper & Keanu Capper
Needing to bounce back after an embarrassing winless group play showing, the Capper Father and Son duo are primed and ready to bring honor to their name. Expect a relentless pursuit for victory from Keanu's precision throws and Kevin's strategic acumen. Together, they embody resilience and a hunger for success that will make them formidable contenders. They are determined to have us all saying less about 2023.
Robin Kirchner & Katherine Kirchner
Mother and Grandmother to be! What a lovely duo! Riding high off the upset of the tournament last year, Robin and Katherine definitely made the Kirchner name proud. We expect nothing less in the second time out. If marrying into the Kirchner clan wasn’t enough of a reason to play out of their minds, showing the next generation how the Kirchner Girls toss will. Both have been playing and enjoying the sunshine - even if it has been on opposite coasts.
Dan McKeown & Perry Corkos
The runners up from the 2023 edition are back for revenge after being boat raced in last year's final. Being the first team to ever Knock the four time champs out in the round of 16 we know Dan and Perry are now good enough to take down any team. Dan and Perry are back choosing to channel some word play of a country that none of their ancestors actually call home. Can last years Mario and Luigi find their mushrooms again and show the world that last year wasn’t some fluke?
Dane Matich & Jake Fisher
If there was ever a team that lived off the need to find perfect weekend vibes, it's the bleach boys. Crafting there skills as roommates and former co-workers, Dane and Jake have been able to build remarkable chemistry. Dane leads this team with his feisty as ever competitive attitude and the ability to make shots. Jake backs up the talent in a more laid back way but still a killer when he wants to be. The boys live by simple words: “If everybody had holey boards across the U.S.A., the everybody’d be tossin’ like Californi-a”.
Jordan Burke & Brigitte Baisa
Jordan and Brigette are back to prove that their semi final run last year wasn’t a fluke. All offseason long these two have competed against some of the best players in the field. We’ve seen time and time again that they make big shots. Jordan is the consistent one - he’s a rhythm player that is going to put enough pressure on you all game. Brigitte is the clutch big gun that has continued to make countless game clinching shots. These two are ready to compete.
Issy & Elliot
Issy and Elliot bring a new level of excitement to the Holey Board, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their baby boy in October. Despite the impending parenthood, their competitive spirit remains undiminished, with each throw reflecting their dedication and focus. Issy's precision and Elliot's strategic approach make them a formidable team on the boards, their synergy strengthened by the anticipation of their growing family.
Whitney & Ryan
Whitney and Ryan bring a burst of fresh enthusiasm to the Holey Board tournament as first-time players, recently discovering the game and diving in headfirst. Known for their love of costumes and flair, they arrive in style, ready to make a statement both on and off the boards. Their vibrant energy and eagerness to learn add a playful charm to the event, as they navigate the game with newfound skill and determination.
Shawn & Alexa
Unfortunately, due to work circumstances Shawn & Alexa have to bow out of the competition. We know they are set to get married next year and wish them all the best on their growing love and success at their new job. We are unsure who will be replacing them at this time.
Andy & Tiana
Andy and Tiana, a seasoned duo with a shared love for travel and several years of marriage under their belt, bring a potent mix of experience and adaptability to the cornhole tournament. With Andy's past as a finalist, expect strategic prowess and precise throws, complemented by Tiana's supportive gameplay. Their synergy as a couple promises a formidable presence on the tournament circuit, blending competitive spirit with a seasoned understanding of the game.
Bill & Dave
Dave, known as "Big Wave Dave," teams up with his longtime friend Bill. Both players bring a competitive edge to the table, fueled by years of camaraderie and shared determination. Dave combines power with precision in his throws. Meanwhile, Bill's background in baseball promises sharp hand-eye coordination, giving him advantages on the boards. Together, they form a seasoned duo whose friendship and competitive spirit make them formidable opponents.
Chris & Conner
Chris and Connor, first-time tournament players, enter the arena under the mentorship of Jake, whom they've learned the game from. Following a memorable Las Vegas night, where their skills were honed in a spirited atmosphere, of getting destroyed at a blackjack table. While inexperienced in tournaments, expect them to bring a blend of newfound skills and Vegas-fueled camaraderie to their debut.
Jason & Danial
Jason and Danial, making their debut in the tournament. Danial is a newcomer to Holey Board, having learned the rules just last night. He shows strong natural apptitude for the game and could help win some games. Meanwhile, Jason's approach mirrors the Dodgers' winning mentality, aiming for strategic excellence and resilience in critical moments, unlike the Clippers' history in pivotal contests. We are excited to have them on the boards.
Kara & Steve
Kara and Steve, newcomers to the tournament, exude a love for life that permeates into their approach to the game. While we haven’t seen them in action this summer, their few appearances on the boards and competitive spirit will make them a challenge. Expect Kara and Steve to bring their infectious enthusiasm, making them an intriguing team despite their rookie status.
Danny & Lisa
Danny and Lisa, hosts of this year's tournament, are poised to showcase their skills on their own turf. After years of keen observation from the sidelines, they're finally stepping onto the boards themselves. Their determination to dominate their front yard adds an extra layer of motivation. From their years of watching, Danny and Lisa are eager to translate their knowledge into competitive success. Thank you so much for allowing us to use your front yard!
Patrice & Michelle
Patrice and Michelle bring a delightful energy to the tournament, playing for the sheer joy of the game. Known for their infectious positivity and love for good vibes, they may not boast the strongest competitive edge, but they promise to spread smiles and warmth to all their fellow competitors. Expect Patrice and Michelle to embody the spirit of fun and sportsmanship, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Nate & Tiago
Nate and Tiago, representing the Oregon Ducks, are long time Holy Board party goers, but it’s their first time playing as a team. This year, they aim to infuse their game with Big 10 energy - thanks for killing the PAC 12. Expect Nate and Tiago to elevate their game now that they are in the big time. We haven’t seen them play this year but everyone tells us they are true competitors.
Mary & Mel
The loveliest team in the whole tournament. Despite being rookies Mary and Mel love to bring a good time and are looking forward to competing against the world. Mary will alway bring a positive dangerous attitude and is guaranteed to get you in trouble. She’s also a great mother. Mel, brand new to Holey board this year, is a feisty competitor and an even prettier person. If her looks don’t kill you, her game certainly will. And they will be there for the good times at the end.
Team Unknown
Player A & Player B Mysterious. Puzzling. Fantastic. Terrible. Beastly. Dreadful. You know as much as we do. Could be amazing. Could flame out. Come find out and cheer.
